Second Life

Second Life explores the relationship between colour, form and material, and their capacity to create moments of surprise, playfulness and joy. Through vivid colour and unexpected forms, the works consider how objects can affect our experience of the spaces we inhabit.

The series transforms reclaimed textiles into sculptural vessels, shifting materials from their previous lives into unfamiliar forms. Through processes of stitching, manipulation and transformation, the textiles acquire a new material presence, blurring the boundaries between object, sculpture and imagined artefact.

At its core, Second Life considers cycles of use, value and renewal. Materials once considered redundant become the starting point for new forms, extending their physical life while questioning when and why materials lose their value. Through this process of reinvention, the discarded is reimagined as something unexpected, enduring and newly significant.
